Modern Warships Update 0.107: Virtual Worlds
Guaranteed upgrades, stealth minimap circles, inventory expansion, and the August Battle Pass season.
Modern Warships Update 0.107: Virtual Worlds landed on July 28, 2026 across iOS, Android, and Steam (app 3144230). Artstorm and Gaijin bundled a progression overhaul, stealth minimap changes, anti–ping-abuse protection, an experimental missile lock mechanic, inventory expansion, and the Virtual Worlds Battle Pass that runs August 1 through August 31, 2026. This page translates the official notes into hangar decisions — what to upgrade first, how stealth circles change ranked awareness, and how to plan the August season without wasting Gold.
RNG-free module upgrades — the headline change
The probability-based upgrade system is completely removed. Every module upgrade stage is now 100% guaranteed with a clear fixed cost shown before you confirm. No more failed rolls burning Credits and materials, no hidden success rates on weapon tracks, and no gambling on whether level four lands tonight.
Practical impact for captains:
- Budget with certainty — If the UI shows the cost, paying it always succeeds. Plan Credit grinds around fixed totals instead of RNG buffers.
- Push meta ships confidently — Once a hull is S-tier on the Tier List Hub, every stage is a known investment. See Ship Upgrades for priority tracks after 0.107.
- Retire old RNG habits — Stop hoarding “two attempt buffers” for bad streaks. Save Gold for Battle Pass tracks and shop windows instead.
Stealth parameter can no longer be upgraded
Alongside the RNG removal, the Stealth parameter is no longer upgradeable. Stealth values are fixed per hull and module combination — you cannot grind stealth higher through the port screen anymore. Submarine and destroyer mains should verify current stealth ratings in tooltips rather than assuming future module stages will add more.
Stealth minimap circles — new detection loop
Enemy ships and aircraft with the Stealth parameter now appear on the minimap as neutral circles when they sit outside your direct view range. The circle tells you something stealthy is there — not who it is or which way they face.
To identify the target and heading, you must re-detect them by moving close enough for the hull to enter your view range (or rely on allied spotting that breaks stealth identification rules). This shifts ranked habits:
- Do not ignore neutral circles — Treat them as probable submarine, stealth frigate, or low-observable aircraft contacts.
- Commit spotters — Helicopter loops and radar bursts matter more. Read Stealth Detection for minimap discipline.
- Island play changes — A circle behind terrain may be a cap ambush. Slow your push until vision clears.
Stealth is now as much a map-awareness mechanic as a stat line.
Protection against ping abuse
Previously, when ping spiked abnormally, damage could apply with a delay, creating unfair advantages for players who weaponized connection instability. Starting in 0.107, that delayed damage from abnormal ping spikes is no longer counted. Fights should reflect tactics and aim, not artificial lag windows.
You may still feel desync in high-latency lobbies — this fix targets abuse, not every network hiccup. Report persistent issues on official Discord after maintenance.
Experimental target lock through obstacles
Version 0.107 introduces an experimental missile mechanic on a dedicated battery scheduled for this release cycle:
- Missiles can lock detected targets outside direct line of sight — for example, enemies hidden behind islands.
- Lock persists while the target remains detected by your radar or allied spotting.
- Trajectory still matters — missiles do not magically curve over terrain; they can strike islands mid-flight if your firing solution is wrong.
Artstorm plans to test this on a separate unit and monitor feedback. Do not assume every missile slot inherits the behavior — check which battery offers it (VIP track YJ-17 is the season headline) and trial in custom rooms before ranked reliance.
Inventory limit: 400 → 500
All players receive a significantly increased inventory cap — from 400 to 500 items. That extra hundred slots absorbs Battle Pass reward dumps, Market purchases, and event tokens without blocking claims.
Still manage clutter — 500 fills fast during Virtual Worlds Battle Pass grinds. See Inventory wiki for cleanup priorities and overflow habits.
Battle Pass: Virtual Worlds (August 2026)
The Virtual Worlds season runs August 1–31, 2026 with 40 stages rewarding Credits, Upgrade Points, Gold, cosmetics, and Battle Pass Credits for the seasonal shop.
| Track | Highlights |
|---|---|
| Free | Pixel Space camouflage, Brad “Byte” Adsit avatar, base Credits and materials |
| Premium | Virtalis One camouflage, Contagion Code Siruv / Node Guardian Fragmenta avatars, extra Credits and Gold |
| VIP | YJ-17 Missile Battery, Wraith V1rU5 legendary camouflage, expanded VIP reward lane |
Battle Pass Shop (August) restocks past-season items already on the Market:
- Ships: RF Typhoon Assault Carrier, CN Type 054B Frigate, USS Spruance (DD-963) — Spruance leaves the shop August 31; last-chance window.
- Aircraft: AV-8B Harrier II Night Attack, Pan Spatial Jacknife Bomber, Z-19E Kite Helicopter.
- Equipment: FQF-6000 Grenade Launcher, Mako Missile Battery, Silent Hunter Air Defense.
Vault Pass adds Operation North Star (December 2025 season), including VIP rewards and ROKS Jang Yeong-sil — a diesel-electric submarine with lithium-ion endurance and ten vertical launch tubes for cruise or ballistic missiles.
Full track strategy: Battle Pass Guide.
Other 0.107 changes
- Matchmaking tests continue in August — Artstorm will announce test windows; feedback shapes ranked queues.
- UI refresh on several screens — expect relocated buttons after login.
- New port teaser — game files hint at something arriving mid-season; watch official news in late August.
- Bug fixes — Arctic sub terrain, Brazil drop keys, mute blocking squads, Steam 2FA focus, and dozens of model fixes (Forbin torpedo trajectory, SM-6 reload button, and more).
Ship stat changes ship in a separate rebalance article — see 0.107 Rebalance for Gorshkov missile slot, F125 buffs, and tier-list follow-up.
Post-0.107 captain adaptation checklist
- Re-read upgrade panels — Confirm fixed costs; stop expecting RNG failure.
- Drop stealth upgrade plans — Invest Credits in damage, reload, and sensors instead.
- Practice minimap circles — Custom room: chase neutral circles with helo support.
- Audit inventory — Sell or use stale modules before claiming BP rewards; cap is 500, not unlimited.
- Plan August BP — Prioritize Spruance shop deadline and Credits targets in Battle Pass Guide.
- Retest mains after rebalance — 0.107 Rebalance plus Tier List Hub.
- Claim patch codes — Codes Hub on maintenance day.
- Compare notes on Latest Updates — rolling checklist for every patch.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Are module upgrades still random after Update 0.107?
No. RNG is completely removed. Every upgrade stage succeeds at a fixed cost shown in the port UI before you confirm.
Can I still upgrade Stealth on my ships?
No. The Stealth parameter can no longer be upgraded. Stealthy enemies instead appear as neutral minimap circles until you re-detect them in view range.
When does the Virtual Worlds Battle Pass run?
August 1 through August 31, 2026. It has 40 stages plus Premium and VIP tracks, with Battle Pass Credits for the seasonal shop.
How long is USS Spruance available in the Battle Pass Shop?
Through August 31, 2026 — one more season in the shop alongside RF Typhoon and CN Type 054B.
Does the new missile lock shoot through islands automatically?
Lock can persist on radar-spotted targets behind terrain, but missiles still follow ballistic paths and can hit islands. Position and detection matter.
